An interview with Ken Walker
Let's get started. Please describe your business.
I provide training videos, tutorials, promotional videos and all sorts of audio/video services. I've been in business since March 2005 and am currently located in New Madison, OH. I've got about a dozen steady-repeat customers and also handle about that many new, one-time customers. I create audio/video based content that most of my customers resell.
What are your roles and responsibilities within the business?
I do it all! I deal with customers, bid jobs, create scripts, develop courseware, create custom graphics, record audio and video, edit, produce, and deliver. My customers deal with me throughout the entire process.
What capabilities have you used from Simplifythis?
Invoicing is awesome! I've also played with the Project features and am planning to start using the Leads.
What business problems does the Simplifythis solution help you solve? Please describe in detail?
One of the biggest hassles I had was tracking payments in PayPal. Sending PayPal invoices was too many steps for me, plus it didn't track customers well. You couldn't keep detailed information on customers or look up past invoices. SimplifyThis put all of that in once spot and I love it.
What has your experience been when using your Simplifythis product?
It was very intuitive. I picked it up in a snap and find that it is streamlined. My old way of doing things didn't give me nearly as many options and it wasn't very customized. I've been using it for 3 or 4 months now, and my only regret is that I didn't have it years ago.
How has the Simplifythis product/s helped your business?
It has saved me a ton of time. I just log in, look up the customer and invoice. All my products/services are there and I just click. Another thing I love is that if I need to create a new product when invoicing, I just type it in and it is created automatically. It gives my clients a much more professional experience.
Many customers say they save a lot of time on administrative tasks as a result of using Simplifythis products. Is this true for you? If so, what do you do with the time you've gotten back?
I would say it definitely saves me a lot of time. And yes, that frees me up to do other things like playing with my children and focusing on my business, instead of accounting…yuck!

Thanks so much for providing such a revolutionary service. And thanks for listening to your customers. In the 3 or 4 months I've been using the service, I've made suggestions that have been put into action almost immediately.
